A Trip Of a Lifetime!
Why an AmaWaterways River Cruise?
Last year I took my 26-year-old son an AmaWaterways cruise down the Danube to see the Christmas Markets. I had sent clients before, who came back gushing about how incredible the experience was. So, I expected we would have a good time. But I was unprepared for the immersive experience that has created memories for what I am sure is my lifetime. We started in Nuremberg, Germany, and stopped in 8 cities along the Danube, ending in marvelous Vienna. Click here to read my blog about that amazing experience.
The food was incredible, the cabins were delightful and the excursions to big cities and small towns left me feeling as though I needed to return someday. But the standout to me was the phenomenal service and the new friends I made along the way. By day 2, the bartenders knew what we liked to drink and the chef would come to our table with a special non-dairy treat for me, knowing I was lactose intolerant! With only 140 passengers, you get to know just about everyone. Of course, my handsome 26-year-old son was incredibly popular. I could barely go anywhere without someone stopping me to ask where he was. The entire time I was aboard, I kept saying that I wish my friends and family were with us.
What’s So Great About a Group River Cruise?
There’s nothing quite like bringing a group of your closest friends together to explore a new destination. Traveling is an enriching and rewarding experience, and you’ll find that to be even more true when you share it with the ones you love.
The benefits of group travel extend far beyond shared experiences. If you are someone who enjoys traveling but does not love planning, then traveling with a group, with a travel advisor doing the heavy lifting is your perfect solution. Just imagine going on the vacation of a lifetime with all of your best friends and people you care about, and the only decision you have to make is what to pack. Surround yourself with people who will make all the tedious logistical decisions about where to go and what to do while you simply tag along for the ride. When you’re with a group, you don’t have to decide any of that if you don’t want to, which can make group travel your best option. But you do have control of which excursions you want to go on each day!
Group travel is also one of the more cost-effective ways to travel. Traveling together can help cut down on expenses like transportation. You will also be eligible for different group discounts depending on the size of your group that wouldn’t be offered otherwise.
One of my favorite things about traveling with a group of people is that they can gently nudge you to try things you would never do on your own, or tasting that dish on the menu in Hungary that you can’t quite pronounce. It forces you out of your comfort zone and allows you to discover new things while making the most of your river cruise.
Perhaps the best part about traveling as a group is being able to share all of your greatest travel moments with some of your closest friends while also making new friends. Whether you’re traveling in a group of three or eight, there is always room for more! You’ll be amazed at how quickly you connect with new people while cruising down the Danube River and biking through a quaint European city or touring a medieval castle. Traveling provides people with the opportunity to bond through new experiences in a way that you wouldn’t normally do at home. Sharing these experiences will also help create lifelong memories and strengthen bonds between you and your group that will last long after the cruise is over.
